Doctors Hospital Heritage Center Addition Opens
Investment in the Heritage Center to Advance Patient Care and Quality
Named by Thomas Reuters as one of the nation's Top 100 hospitals in the major teaching hospital category, Doctors Hospital celebrated the May opening of its new Heritage Center. The Center includes a new emergency department and the Heritage Center for Osteopathic Medical Education, bringing all existing educational components – research, continuing medical education, and a medical library--into one centralized location.
The Foundation’s support includes a $12.5 million capital contribution for the new Emergency Department and Medical Education Center, and a $750,000 grant for the purchase of specialty training equipment. The state of the art training technology equipment includes four human patient simulators, two virtual-reality trainers and four microscopy surgical training suites which will be used in the new, 30,000 square-foot teaching center.
