Funding Priorities

Osteopathic Medical Education and Research

The Foundations osteopathic medical education and medical research grantmaking is designed to assure an appropriate number of highly trained osteopathic physicians to serve, in conjunction with other health profession disciplines, the primary and specialty health needs of the community, primarily in central and southeastern Ohio; and, to demonstrate, through scientifically sound research, the efficacy of osteopathic medicine and its potential to improve medical care for the community-at-large.

Funding in osteopathic medical education is directed to those programs that have demonstrated experience and a commitment to osteopathic principles, high quality medical education programming, institutional collaboration, faculty development, and sensitivity to the health needs in central and southeastern Ohio.

Medical research funding is directed to those educational and organizational institutions that have established research missions, an appropriate number of experienced osteopathic physician and other medical research scientists, and available financial and human resources to conduct and support effective, scientifically relevant medical research activities.
