Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Awards $1.5 Million Through Signature Impact Initiative

In central Ohio, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation approved $1.5 million in support of the Signature Impact Initiative, which is designed to impact pressing health and quality of life issues in the community by ensuring critical, high quality services are available and accessible for Franklin County’s most vulnerable residents.

The second Bounty on the Bricks fundraiser was held in Athens on August 9. The event gathers attendees at a city-block-long table on Court Street in Athens to celebrate local food and raise funds for area food pantries.

New Funding Partnership Grants Announced

New grants were recently announced through funding partnerships between the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville, the Athens Foundation and the Rocky Community Improvement Fund (RCIF). In partnership with the Athens Foundation, 25 local nonprofit organizations received funding for projects designed to positively impact the health and quality of life for residents in Athens County. In collaboration with the RCIF, funding was approved for 14 organizations working to improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations in southeastern Ohio.

317 Board Partnership Funding Approvals for 2014

In 2013, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville (the Foundation) and the Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board (317 Board) launched a funding partnership to support the integration of behavioral health and primary care services for vulnerable populations in Athens, Hocking and Vinton counties in Ohio. The partnership recently announced new funding approvals to support additional integration projects in the region.

The Osteopathic Heritage Foundations are pleased to announce the election of Thomas E. Baker, DO, an orthopedic surgeon, and Ronald G. Linville, an attorney and managing partner of Baker & Hostetler LLP, to the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Board of Directors; and Susan Hunter, RN, a retired surgical nurse and hospital administrator, to the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville Board of Directors.
