Foundation directors and staff joined osteopathic physicians, medical students and stakeholders from across Ohio and the country for the 2015 Ohio Osteopathic Symposium, which was held in Columbus during April.

Single GME Transition Summit Held

Leaders from across the country and Ohio gathered in April for the first regional summit on the new single Graduate Medical Education (GME) accreditation system. Hosted by the Heritage College, in collaboration with the American Osteopathic Association and the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation, the summit was designed to inform and facilitate the transition of osteopathic and allopathic residency and fellowship programs in the U.S. to be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Heritage College Rolls Out New Mobile Clinic

The Heritage College's Community Health Programs recently unveiled its new, 40-foot, custom-built mobile clinic to provide free and reduced-cost medical care to rural and underserved communities in southeastern Ohio. Services include childhood immunizations, breast cancer screenings and blood pressure checks. The new mobile clinic was funded by the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation and the Komen Foundation. The Heritage College has been using mobile units as part of health-care outreach efforts for more than 20 years.
