In addition to proactively developing and implementing targeted funding priorities and initiatives, the Foundations support a number of efforts focused on improving health and quality of life in central and southeastern Ohio. Through a community responsive grantmaking approach, the Foundations seek to address unmet or growing needs when opportunities to invest arise that are aligned with the Foundations’ mission. Periodically, the Foundations issue requests for proposals (RFP) to increase the availability, quality and or accessibility of community based health and social services to vulnerable populations. Often, these RFP are targeted to a specific geographic location within the Foundations’ service area.
Recognizing the value of community leadership programs and the importance of developing, connecting and inspiring leaders who will serve as catalysts in building strong and vibrant communities, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations have prioritized support of and participation in local leadership programs. Most recently, this includes Susan Beaudry’s graduation from Leadership Columbus in June 2016. Congratulations, Susan.
In June 2016, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville renewed its commitment to Leadership Athens by approving $22,500, over three years, to ensure the worthwhile community program continues to thrive and expand as the next generation of leaders engage in the nine-month program.
