An open house introducing area residents to the OhioHealth Nelsonville Health Center was held in October. The new, 20,000 square-foot center provides urgent care and a broad range of outpatient health services to the community, including access to the Heritage Community Room – named in recognition of the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations’ support to create the Heritage Endowment for Community Health Education.

The Endowment was established in 2016 by the Foundations and is designed to improve access to health and wellness services for the residents of Nelsonville and surrounding communities.

The Heritage community room will be utilized to hold community events and health screenings and features audio/video capabilities in a conference room setting.   More than 70 individuals took part in health screenings and flu vaccines at the October event and locally grown food was made available by Rural Action’s Chesterhill Produce Auction.
